A camp was organised on October 4 to October 6 named as KIRANAM.The camp starts with the cultural programmes by the NSS  students and followed by orientation programme by Mr. Chandu S Manushyan (Motivator & Leadership trainer).The camp also included a session from Ms.Usha Kumari(Civil Excise Division Alathur) connected with awareness regarding the increasing cases of drug addiction.

A team consisting 40 volunteers in corporation with vadakkencherry panchayath authorities on mission of cleaning the Government Homeo dispensary,Vadakkencherry.

The celebration starts with flag hosting by Director Fr.Mathew Illathuparampil. The dignitary addresses the importance of NSS and its activities, How it contributes to the volunteers life and their attitudes.

The event was organised to create an awareness regarding basic safety and precautions to be be taken before a rescue operation. The reputed officers Mr.Sajith, Mr.Dhanesh  from Fire station, Vadakkencherry demonstrates the session.

The class was lead by Blood Donation Coordinator ,Kollam district mr.Vijin William.The class communicates the importance of blood donation its necessities,the precautions for blood donation etc.

NSS team distrubutes the saplings of trees to various persons from different working sectors.And the team identifies the importance of forestation and its impact on climatic changes.

On January 24, 2024, a significant event marked the inauguration of Sneharamam, a transformative project undertaken by the NSS Unit 297. This initiative aimed to convert a waste dumping spot into a clean, green space adorned with flowers and trees. The event was graced by the presence of Reverend Father Mathew Illathuparambil, who formally inaugurated Sneharamam, symbolizing a beacon of hope and community-driven change.

A 7 day camp  was organised from 23.12.23 to 29.12.23 @ IHRD College Vadakkencherry.The camp aims at enhancing the abilities of individuals.

As part of NSS, the students of Valliyode St. Mary’s Polytechnic College cleaned the area of ​​Vadakkencherry Police Station and arranged the cars that were caught there in a compact manner and cleared the entire forested area. A 34 member team consisting of 29 boys and 5 girls led the cleaning work under the leadership of Programme Officers Vijin Sir and Prasin Sir.

An anti drug campaign on behalf of Excise department was conducted on 16/10/2023.A short drug awareness class was also provided for a small group of students.These drug awareness classes are conducted to promote community service and social awareness. NSS aim to educate participants about the dangers of drug abuse, its impact on individuals and communities, and ways to prevent and address substance abuse issues.
